Gīrvāṇa Ratnāvalī

Gīrvāṇa Ratnāvalī is a text on Hindu religious practices and other rituals composed by King Gīrvāṇa Yuddha Vikram Śāha of Nepal (1797-1816 CE). This text is also popularly called ‘Satkarma Ratnāvalī’. This book is very much significant for the Hindus of Nepal or other Hindus living elsewhere.




Prabodha Chandrodaya

Prabodha Chandrodaya or 'Rise of the Moon of Knowledge,' is a Sanskrit Drama written by Krishna Mishra. It is a play in six acts dating from about the end of the eleventh century. It depicts the battle between Mahamoha ('great delusion') and Viveka ('discrimination) in the mind of man (Purusha) through the conflict between Vedic and non-Vedic traditions, and between figures like ahamkara (ego), krodha (anger) and santi (peace).

Pārvana Śrāddha Vidhi

Parvana Shraddha is one of the several forms of Shraddha ceremony performed for deceased ancesters by the Hindus. This text describes the ritual processes of Parvana Shraddha. It is done during special occasions like Pitru Paksha and Bhadrapada Purnima are known as Parvana Shraddha. Vishwadeva are installed during Parvana Shraddha.

Devīmāhātmya

The Devi Mahatmya is a Hindu religious text describing the Goddess as the supreme power and creator of the universe. It is part of the Markandeya Puran written sometime between 400 to 600 CE. It is also known as Durgā Saptashatī. It is one of the most important texts of Shaktism. It describes a battle between good and evil, where the Devi manifesting as goddess Durga leads the forces of good against the demon Mahisasura.
